INFORMATION DESIGN AND TAXONOMY

Whatever your medium, it requires an intuitive information flow that seamlessly guides your customers through their processes of learning and making decisions about your offerings. This is as important from a language usage and content design perspective as it is from a visual design perspective.

I am an experienced UX tester, for online and mobile, and know how to organize information in the most optimal, streamlined ways. I team up well with visual designers; I am proficient in WordPress and a quick study for whatever proprietary CMS you can come up with. I have written countless user manuals, and always make sure that whoever works on the back end knows the “why” behind a given task. I also ensure that the manual itself is engaging, and just as well-organized as the back end itself. Relatedly, I have a funny/horrifying DOS story from circa 2005 (yes, 2005). Ask if you dare.

I approach the following services from the twin perspectives of 1) you achieving your goals and 2) your customers’ experience of your information:

  • Creating clear underlying organizational principles from scratch, either as a means to display information to the world at large on the front end, or to set up a logical hierarchy on the back end – or both
  • Conducting an IA overhaul of pre-existing systems
